Collaboration = Smart + smarter

“I’ve been blessed to find people who are smarter than I am, and they help me to execute the vision I have.”

— Russell Simmons

I was impressed by this “Quote of the day” on www.yourhiddenpotential.co.uk, how humble this guy has to be to claim this statement.

I found that it’s not an easy job to admit others who are smarter than we are.

Often time, we think we’re the best;

Often time, we think we can handle things better than anyone else.

Agree? Who don’t, raise your hand!

I DON’T BELIEVE YOU.

We think we are smart. Unfortunately, when the bottleneck hits us, we finally realize that we need someone’s help.

For example, in design field, people can be smarter when collaboration is involved. Collaboration means two or more people work together to get the common goals.

when I design stuff, I think I can accomplish the project alone as I get the original idea, clear message, and I’m in whole control. However, most of the time, my mind is not as happy as I want it to be. It just simply stops working – now I’m facing obstacles!

What I need are:  an eye of criticism, some brainstorming discussions, any good and bad feedbacks and other design related activities to help me generate more ideas, change or improve the design.

Those who can help to remove the hurdles are considered as SMARTER buddies.

So collaboration makes people smart and smarter.

Leave me a comment if you agree OR share your thought if you disagree.
